Cookies are small files a website stores on your device, so it can remember things between page loads — that you're logged in, for example. This page lists exactly what SkiMo Stats stores and why.
These are needed for the site to work at all, so they're set whether or not you accept optional cookies. They don't track you across other websites.

We use Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics, to understand which pages and races people actually look at. It sets cookies such as _ga and _gid to tell repeat visits apart. These identify a browser rather than a person by name, but they are still personal data, which is why we ask first.
These stay switched off until you press Accept, and pressing Decline keeps them off. We use Google Consent Mode, so the tags load in a mode that can't store anything until consent is given.
Not technically cookies, but the same idea — these stay in your browser, are never sent to us, and exist to make the site faster or remember a preference.

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish, for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.
